A PASSION FOR FASHION

In February, Fashion Exposed celebrated its 20th season.   An integral part of the Australian fashion cycle Fashion Exposed is a professional, innovative trade show with a strong passion for fashion.  But their first love is promoting emerging labels and developing incubators.

“It’s exciting to see new and emerging labels develop their profile and succeed,” said Marie Kinsella, Director Australian Exhibitions and Conferences.   “Debut, a long-running feature of Fashion Exposed, showcases up and coming designers and we help out by providing free stands, free space, free runway shows and solid marketing support.”

Along with Debut the Incubator program showcases new designers increasing their business profile and retail opportunities.  New for 2010 is Avant Garde a selection of costume and couture designs by students of fashion design.  Quirky creativity and unique designs – it’s the perfect platform for students and an invigorating experience for an audience of fashion lovers.

“I don’t see the costs of stands, stylists, curators and promotions as an actual cost, rather it’s our personal sponsorship to the industry” said Kinsella.  “Though when we passed the $500,000 mark in sponsorship my accountant did raise it to my attention!” she laughed.

Celebrating the 20th season of Fashion Exposed was a milestone not only for the organizer Australian Exhibitions and Conferences but also for the companies, individuals and associations who have quietly been supported along the way.
